Google Cloud Outage: Snapchat, Discord, Spotify, Etsy Down

Google Cloud is apparently down which in result has crashed major websites and services including Snapchat, Discord, Spotify, Etsy, etc.

Google’s service’s status page indicates that a networking issue is currently causing issues, resulting in the 404 errors seen on affected webpages.

On Tuesday evening, tens of thousands of people reported issues with Snapchat and Spotify on Twitter.

Fitbit users reported similar problems with the app around the same time.

During the major outage, Pokemon Go game players also reported issues with their app.

Down Detector shows Snapchat is down for many users.

A social media user said, “google cloud services are down, so a lot of stuff is out right now!”

“Many Snapchatters are having trouble using the app. Hang tight, we’re working on a fix 🛠 In the meantime, we recommend staying logged in.” Snapchat Support tweeted after user reports.

“We’re aware of some issues right now and are checking them out! We’ll keep you posted.” Spotify Status wrote on Twitter.

NetBlocks, an internet tracking website, confirms that the widespread internet outage is “due to a Google Cloud Networking technical fault; incident not related to country-level internet disruptions or filtering.”

DownDetector shows that many of the services began experiencing problems at the same time, indicating that a common provider is having problems.
