According to multiple reports, some Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 users have complained that Google One VPN is not working or connecting on their devices.

Google One VPN is a virtual private network (VPN) service offered as part of Google One, a subscription service that provides users with expanded storage, additional benefits, and more.

The service is available on both Android and iOS devices and can be easily activated through the Google One app. It is a paid service and requires a Google One subscription in order to use it.

Reports of Google One VPN not connecting or working for Pixel users

Users report that the VPN is allegedly showing a notification that they are no longer connected to the service. Furthermore, when users attempt to deactivate the VPN from Google One, the app becomes unresponsive.

Others claim that, while the app does not freeze for them when they re-enable the VPN. It either connects and instantly disconnects or fails to connect.

An affected user posted: “I’m having the same issue, luckily it does not disrupt my data connection. I can temporarily get around this by clearing Data on Google One app, and re-sign into Google One with my G1 account, and VPN works for about a few days. Then I will get the “disabled, please sign in with a G1 account” warning, and have to do it all over again.”

“QPR2 beta 2 pixel 7 series only. VPN won’t connect it tells me to sign in. Was working fine on the stable public release of android 13. It tries to connect but won’t,” another reported.

Issue escalated + temporary workarounds

The issue was escalated in December. Additionally, a Diamond Product Expert suggested Pixel owners wait for the next beta release some days ago, but recent reports show that the issue persists even in the latest beta 3 update.

To begin, try clearing the data data on the Google One app, after which you will need to log back into your Google One Account. This may allow you to use the service for a few days without experiencing any glitches.

If it still doesn’t work, you can try removing and reinstalling the app on your device.
