GTA 6 names of characters revealed in 2022 leak show protagonists Lucia and Jason’s relationship
In case you missed it, the first GTA 6 trailer went live a day earlier due to an online leak. Here are the quick highlights: it’s set to release in 2025, titled Grand Theft Auto VI, and it’s bringing us back to Vice City in the present day.
The trailer introduced the game’s dual protagonists. Lucia, the first female hero in the series’ 3D history, seems to have Latin American roots. Her partner-in-crime, still without a confirmed name, joins her as they cruise around Vice City on a speedboat, sports car, and motorcycle.
The leaked information from September 2022 referred to the male protagonist as James, or sometimes Jason, but the trailer didn’t confirm the name.
Regardless, it’s pretty clear from the footage that the two have a romantic connection. And share a kind of Bonnie and Clyde-style relationship, especially as they speed away in a car that’s likely stolen.
Other characters in the game
While Lucia and her partner steal the spotlight, the GTA 6 trailer does introduce some other characters, although they don’t play a central role. At one moment, there’s a close-up of two unfamiliar characters joyfully embracing. Later, a scantily clad woman is spotted reveling at a rooftop lounge.

The trailer also features a lively bunch of characters doing quirky things for social media, and in line with Florida vibes, there are quite a few alligators making appearances.
If GTA 6 is truly bringing Florida to life, there’s a possibility that we might experience wildlife at the level seen in Red Dead Redemption 2.
The trailer confirms the presence of dogs, with a tiny chihuahua spotted running along the beach. Additionally, flamingos, dolphins, and sharks make appearances.
The airboat scene strongly suggests the inclusion of the Florida everglades, a vast area with diverse habitats. In real life, this region is home to various animals like panthers, bears, deer, turtles, manatees, and more. If translated into the game, GTA 6 could boast a rich and varied animal population.
