Hungary on Thursday abstained from a decision by EU leaders to open membership talks with Ukraine, Prime Minister Viktor Orban said, calling it “a completely senseless, irrational and wrong decision”.

“Twenty-six other countries have insisted that this decision be taken. Therefore, Hungary has decided that if 26 others decide to do so, they should go their own way,” he said in a video posted on Facebook.
