UPDATE: Chief Shields confirm reports that someone entered Jeffersontown High School with a gun. She said there have been no reports of injuries.
Video from the Jeffersontown High School show several students being led outside with their hands in the air.
Around 1:30 p.m., Principal Jarrad Durham sent an email to staff members informing them that the building was secure and that all staff and students were safe. Durham stated that officers will release classrooms to the football field one at a time, WHAS 11 reported.

Police is responding to an ‘active aggressor’ scene at Jeffersontown High School in Kentucky.
There were few details available at the time, but Jeffersontown police dispatchers reported that officers are investigating a report of a âactive aggressor.â
Although nothing has been confirmed, the school has been placed on lockdown.
According to reports, the building is being evacuated.
According to several social media reports, a former student with a gun was spotted on the scene.
Officers were dispatched to the school around 11:40 a.m. on Thursday.
