A key suspect in an EU graft scandal, former Italian MEP Pier Antonio Panzeri, has cut a deal with prosecutors and is divulging information about the countries involved and bribes he made, Belgian authorities said Tuesday.

In return for giving the information, he was being offered a “limited sentence” that would include imprisonment, a fine and confiscation of one million euros ($1.1 million) in assets, said the statement by Belgian federal prosecutors.
