Maduro officially proclaimed poll winner by Venezuela electoral body

Venezuela’s electoral council, loyal to the regime, on Monday officially proclaimed President Nicolas Maduro the winner of elections whose results are rejected by the opposition and questioned internationally.

The Venezuelan people, said Elvis Amoroso of the CNE electoral body, had re-elected Maduro by a majority to be president “for the period 2025-2031.”
