Pope Francis said Monday that relations between the Vatican and China were “very respectful” but added that both parties needed to “go further” for mutual understanding.
“Relations with China are very respectful, very. I have a great admiration for the Chinese people,” the pope told reporters flying home from Mongolia, while adding that both states needed to “go further in the religious aspect to understand each other better”.
