Here is how to stop fog from appearing on your glasses while wearing a mask

stop fog on glasses wearing mask

I’m sure you’ll agree with me when I say that wearing a mask and putting on glasses can sometimes be irritating. That’s because most times, it causes the lenses to fog. Every time you breathe, you exhale warm air, and it moves through your mask, spreading all over your lens. As such, your lenses become wet and start to fog. No doubt, that can be annoying, but you don’t have to worry too much about it. That’s because we’ve come with long-lasting solutions to help you stop fog on your glasses.

In this article, we’ll be looking at a few ways to stop fog on your glasses.

1- Wash Your Glasses With Soap To Stop Fog

The first step you can take to stop the fog on your glasses is by washing your lenses with soap and water.

According to a study in 2011, washing the glasses with soap and water can help to stop fog on it. The research was published in the journal Annals of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, by two doctors. However, there’s advice that people should only opt for soap that won’t cause damages to the lenses.

So, before wearing your mask, wash the lenses with warm water and soap. Since there’s no time limit to scrub your lenses, all you need is to be gentle and thorough with it. After that, use a soft tissue to dry the glasses before putting them on.

2- Adjust The Mask To Fit Your Face

Apart from washing the lenses, another way to stop fog on your glasses is by adjusting the mask to better fit your face. According to Glamour, having a mask that fits your face will likely help to reduce fog from forming on your glasses.

However, your mask needs to have wire inside the top edge, to help grip your nose.

3- Make Use Of An Anti-fog spray To Stop Fog On Your Glasses

Another way to stop fog on your glasses is by making use of an anti-fog spray. However, this trick may not be effective for everybody, as it can sometimes cause irritation of the eyes.

You can get an anti-fog spray at Walmart, and Amazon.

4- Attach A Small Folded Tissue To Your Mask

You can also stop fog from forming on your glasses when you attach a folded tissue to the top of your mask.

With a tissue inside your mask, it helps to absorb most of the warm air, making it less likely to spread on your lenses. However, to prevent frequent adjustment of the tissue, you can make use of a piece of tape to keep it secure.

5- Attach A Small Folded Tissue To Your Mask

Lastly, you can also reduce fog on your lenses by sliding the glasses a little bit down your nose. You can place it in such a way that it helps to prevent the warm air from escaping to the lenses. Although this might not be effective for a long time, you can still try it out.

As a result of the continuous spread of coronavirus, experts have advised people to always go out with a mask on. So, in order to avoid irritation from fog formation, you should opt for one of the above-listed fixes.
