Two more Russian regions on Monday introduced a state of emergency over the risk of unprecedented flooding, as officials urged locals to evacuate while they still could.

“The flood forecast is rapidly deteriorating, much more water is arriving, and faster,” Vadim Shumkov, the governor of the Kurgan region said in a post on Telegram, after the neighbouring Tyumen region also announced a state of emergency on Monday.
