Venezuela’s interim President Delcy Rodriguez said Friday she had agreed on energy cooperation with India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In a telephone call, “we addressed strategic cooperation in energy” and other sectors, said Rodriguez, who assumed power with US President Donald Trump’s consent after the toppling of Nicolas Maduro in a US military operation.

Venezuela sits on the biggest proven oil reserves in the world and reformed its hydrocarbons law this week to open the sector up to private investment.
