Joe Rogan was stunned on his podcast after reading a DailyMail.com article about a mysterious interstellar object, 3I/ATLAS, which NASA identifies as a likely comet. However, Harvard astrophysicist Avi Loeb suggests it could be an alien probe headed for Earth, possibly arriving in 2027.

Rogan highlighted its unusual approach from behind the sun, making detection difficult. Quoting the article, he reacted to its estimated size—about seven miles in diameter, larger than Mount Everest—calling it the largest interstellar object ever observed.

While astronomer Chris Lintott dismissed Loeb’s alien theory as “nonsense on stilts,” Rogan defended Loeb’s credibility, noting his Harvard background.

Speculating further, Rogan proposed the object might be an extinction-level event—possibly even an alien reset mechanism timed with the rise of artificial intelligence. He imagined it could pave the way for a redesigned humanity, one that’s less territorial and more curious. 3I/ATLAS was first spotted on July 1 by Chile’s Vera C. Rubin Observatory. Its nucleus is estimated at 3.5 miles wide, surrounded by a cloud of ice and dust.
