According to Newport News Police Department officials, authorities are responding to a shooting reported Monday at Heritage High School in Virginia.

Just after 12 p.m., police were called to Heritage High School in Newport News.
Students have been evacuated and are being directed to the tennis courts. Parents are welcome to join them there.
Achievable Dream Academy, which is nearby, has also been placed on lockdown.
About 1,200 students attend Heritage High in southeast Newport News. The school also houses about 130 students who attend Huntington Middle School.
Police confirm at least two people shot at Virginia high school; no word on the status of the shooter. Both were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
According to cops, reports of active shooters at other schools in the city are false.
UPDATE: According to police, two teens were shot at Heritage High School. A 17 year old girl was shot in the lower leg, and a 17 year old boy was shot in the side of his face.
Police say, there is still a search for a suspect.
