Bank of America customers reported difficulties accessing their accounts on Wednesday.

According to Downdetector, a site that tracks service outages, reports of issues began to surge around 12:45 pm ET.

Many users complained about being unable to view their account balances, while others who could log in were shocked to see zero balances.

Several customers of Bank of America accounts also reported being unable to access their online accounts. One customer saw a message indicating that account balances may be “temporarily unavailable.”

A message on the Bank of America app states, “Accounts Temporarily Unavailable. Some accounts and/or balances are temporarily unavailable.”

Customers turned to social media platforms like X and Reddit to inquire about the status of their funds.

“There’s some kind of glitch on the Bank of America website that shows $0 in all accounts and honestly I think they owe everybody some cash for pain and suffering because that was extremely stressful for a second there,” X (Twitter) user said.

Bank of America has yet to explain the cause of the outage, provide a timeline for service restoration, or clarify if users’ money was at risk during the incident.
