US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Wednesday that Ukraine was making “very encouraging” progress in its counteroffensive against Russian forces, as he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

“We see the important progress that’s being made now in the counteroffensive and that’s very, very encouraging,” Blinken said during an unannounced visit to the capital Kyiv, during which he said Washington would continue to walk “side by side” with Ukraine.
