Some Firefox users have been facing a crashing issue while using Google Images. Google Images is an immensely popular platform that serves as a go-to choice for countless individuals seeking to search and browse through vast collections of visual content.
Social media reports of Google Images constantly crashing in Firefox
Many reports have surfaced, primarily from Linux users, indicating that Firefox tabs frequently crash when searching for images on Google.
Although the majority of users experiencing this issue are on Linux, it is possible that users on other operating systems are also facing the same problem.
A user reported: “I’ve tried two different browsers, Firefox 90 and 113, and Google Images crashes no matter what terms are put in. Changed settings, disabled plugins, extensions, cleared cookies, cache, tried private browsing, log out, nothing is working. I did this in both 90 and 113, with no difference made. Every time I try to use Google Images, the tab crashes.”
Another user reported: “I think it is firefox mainly at fault. Works on opera, vivaldi, etc. Just fails on firefox and only some firefox installations at that. Plus, firefox is getting a segfault. That is totally its fault, programs should not segfault regardless of what web pages they are trying to display.”
Other browsers like Opera and Vivaldi function properly, while Firefox fails to perform adequately, and this issue seems to affect only certain Firefox installations. Furthermore, Firefox is experiencing a segfault, which is entirely its own fault. Programs should not encounter segfaults, regardless of the web pages they are attempting to display.
Issue acknowledged by Google
Fortunately, Google has acknowledged this problem and assured that their team is currently investigating it. However, they have not specified a timeframe for when the issue will be resolved.

Regrettably, we have not encountered any viable solution that can assist in resolving this issue. It is necessary to wait until the developers at Google address and rectify the problem.
