Google designed Wireless Android Auto to give users superior convenience. This offering eliminates cable clutter, allowing users to keep their phones anywhere while automatically connecting to their vehicle’s display. Although amazing, Android Auto certainly has its issues. One issue many users are currently experiencing is that Android Auto wireless keeps disconnecting after a recent update.
Wireless Android Auto Keeps Disconnecting, Users Cry Out
As mentioned earlier, Google’s Android Auto is not without its issues. Years back, users reported that its calendar app disappeared after Google introduced the Android 11 update. Other users mentioned that the app’s weather information was not visible in the top bar.
Today, users are now complaining about another issue that affects the wireless Android Auto. According to claims, this feature randomly disconnects and reconnects every time while driving. Affected users reported that the issue started after the March software updates.
With many users reporting this issue, it seems the problem doesn’t affect just a specific phone brand. Some of the affected smartphone models include:
- Pixel 9 Pro XL
- Samsung Galaxy S23 series
- Samsung Galaxy S24 series
- Sony Xperia models
Keeping Your Phone in Airplane Mode May Work
When the annoying issue occurs, the system holds a connection for some time, suddenly disconnects, and then reconnects. Furthermore, reports show that many users tried different troubleshooting steps. However, none of the workarounds worked as their wireless Android Auto still keeps disconnecting.
A user reported that keeping your phone in Airplane mode could give you superior convenience while driving. However, you need to keep the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on. The only drawback here is that this fix is impossible if you still rely on your phone to stream music or use a map. Another Pixel 9 user said factory resetting works until the point where the Google Play system update from January 2026 is installed.

The Android Auto Team is Aware of this Issue
The good news is that the Android Auto team is currently aware of this issue. A post by a Community Specialist revealed that the issue has been escalated and the team is already working on it. Besides, Google is also trying to get to the root of the issue by emailing some affected users to collect bug reports.
Currently, there’s no information on when Google will roll out a fix to resolve this issue. As usual, we’ll keep our eyes on Google and update you as soon as we find anything worth sharing.
