Multiple reports of Instagram users seeing “The username you entered doesn’t belong to an account. Please check your username and try again” error have appeared.

Apparently, Instagram shows the error when users try to log in to their accounts. Some people are also being logged out of their accounts automatically.

Last week, many Instagram users complained that the social media platform was not sending a two-factor authentication verification code via SMS.

Reports of ‘Instagram username doesn’t belong to an account’ error

Users are confused as to how they can access their Instagram accounts. Prompts such as “The username you entered doesn’t belong to an account. Please check your username and try again” seems to display.

“My Instagram tells me “The username you entered doesn’t belong to an account. Please check your username and try again.” How can I open it?” a user posted on Quora.

One user tweeted: “HELP needed! All Instagram experts! I’m trying to add another Existing account on my IG app but it keeps showing this Error: The username you entered doesn’t appear to belong to an account. Please check your username and try again.” All worked from PC.”

Users have tagged Instagram support for assistance but there has been no response yet.

Possible workarounds by Quora users

So far, Instagram has been slow in responding to people’s issues with account login. However, some other users have come to the rescue with potential fixes.

“Then I tried Instagram Lite and I was able to login to Instagram Lite. The issue was resolved after the Instagram update. Then you can log in to Instagram’s main app again. Until then, you can use the Instagram Lite app or mobile browser,” a Quoran suggested

“Login to account via mobile data. It will work fine 🙂 and then use any network after login account,” another person suggested.

Additionally, users complained that there has been extremely low reach through hashtags or explore pages. Others reported that they experienced decreasing follower count. Looks like something is wrong with Instagram and the developers fix it soon.
