iPhone 14 may launch with satellite connectivity option

Apple is planning to release the iPhone 14 with satellite connectivity options for emergency situations.

According to GizmoChina, users will be able to send text messages or SOS responses via a satellite network to report on accidents, similar to the one on the brand’s smartwatch.

The tech website recently reported that Apple is possibly working on a similar satellite feature for its Apple Watch.

According to the report, the primary reason for including this system is to allow users to send messages or contact emergency services in the event of an actual emergency.

This system will reportedly include a “Emergency Message via Contacts” feature for sending short messages in areas where cellular signals are unavailable.

In other words, it appears that the company intends to incorporate this feature into its other products as well.

Interestingly, the iPhone 13 series was also rumoured to include such technology, though it was omitted on the 2021 iPhone.
