Joe Biden: “I’ll sign an executive order to require masks everywhere I can”

According to Joe Biden’s recent tweet, an executive order requiring people to wear masks might arrive soon. As the world is plunged into a deadlier wave of coronavirus, masks are an integral protective gear. However, people continue to refuse to adhere to standard SOP guidelines and neglect their masks. United States has experienced the greater number of Covid-19 related deaths, several people have lost their families and loved ones to the deadly virus.

Joe Biden to pass an executive order that requires mandatory masks

In a tweet, Joe Biden said, “On day one, I’ll sign an executive order to require masks everywhere I can.” He further maintained that he will adopt a “masking plan” during the first 100 days of his administration. Day one will comprise of Joe Biden signing an executive order. By virtue of this executive order, penalty on not wearing a mask will be imposed. He further says that the masking plan will extend to all areas of the United States.

Joe Biden further states that he will be working closely with mayors and governors. This will encourage a collective effort to ensure regulation of the executive order. The mayors and governors will supervise their respective cities and states to ensure that citizens adhere to the order. The masking plan will extend to almost every space.

Biden further urges that this plan cannot work with governmental action alone. He states that citizens of the United States must play their part in limiting the spread of the virus. A plan like this cannot be accomplished with governmental action alone. “We need your help”, he tells to the American people.

Wearing masks is a “Patriot Act”

In the broadcast, he urges people to wear a mask “just for 100 days.” His administration is likely to assess whether the plan needs to be extended or not based on response of the American citizens. The administration will also take into account the rate of Covid-19 cases. He emphasizes that citizens must do their part in combating the virus for their community and loved ones. The usage of masks has been stressed as the “easiest thing” citizens can do.

“100 days to make a difference.” Joe Biden aims to drastically change the situation after officially taking office. Citizens have been urged to wear masks regardless of their political affiliations. He says, “it’s not a political statement, it’s a patriot act.” Given the number of Covid-19 related deaths in United States, wearing masks does constitute as a patriot act.

The broadcast received mixed reviews. While many people are applauding this action, others do not seem too happy. There have been a number of anti-lock down protests across the globe. However, we must remember what is important. It is easier to weak a mask than to lose a loved one.
