A recent Twitter bug is causing users to like their own tweets.

Twitter is a famous microblogging platform used by people to express their opinions or political statements. Followers show their appreciation for a tweet by liking or heart-reacting to it. However, the like feature is currently bugged.

Reports of Twitter users liking their own tweets

According to multiple reports, tweets are being automatically self-liked. It is frustrating because liking one’s post is like tooting your own horn. Many people have expressed their annoyance on social media regarding the bug.

“@TwitterSupport your “like” feature is broken. When I click on my “Likes” it literally shows everything I have tweeted or replied. Same for other accounts. Why is that?” a user posted.

“Why the flip is my own picture in my likes when I didn’t put a like on it? Is this a random glitch or something? @Twitter @TwitterSupport can you please fix this!” another posted.

Some are confused as to what’s happening with their account and demand a fix from Twitter support.

“This is weird @TwitterSupport @Twitter… I don’t remember liking my own tweets. the heart is not even in red like they’re supposed to be,” one person tweeted.

Another wrote: “Soo there’s some sort of glitch going on Twitter rn and people are absolutely losing their minds bc Louis and Harry (and apparently many more people) are liking their own tweets.”

According to users, when they go to the ‘Likes’ tab on their profile, the entire page is full of their own tweets that have been mistakenly liked.

Twitter’s official acknowledgment but no workaround yet

Generally, when someone likes a tweet, the ‘heart’ symbol turns red to show that the action has been successful. But unusually, all the self-liked tweets do not have the red icon.

Apart from tweets, it also seems like the issue has extended to replies to tweets, images, and videos that users have earlier posted. Many celebrities and social media influencers have also started to like their own tweets.

Twitter was quick to respond to the issue and said they are working to resolve it.
