According to multiple videos posted on social media, a massive fire broke out at the top floor of St John’s Hospital in Far Rockaway, New York City.

People are reporting thick black smoke from miles away.

Patients of the hospital are being evacuated due to fire.

Those in the area should close their windows to avoid the smoke, said New York Fire Department.

More than 100 firefighters reported to have rushed to the scene to fight a two-alarm fire at the hospital in Queens, New York.

At least two people suffered minor injuries.

The hospital facility in New York City has 257 beds.

According to its website, St. John’s Episcopal Hospital is the only hospital in southern Queens County and southwestern Nassau County, New York, that provides emergency and ambulatory care to the densely populated, culturally and economically diverse, and medically underserved populations of the Rockaways and Five Towns.

UPDATE: The fire, at the roof top of the facility, was under control shortly after 6 PM.
