The Tory leadership debate went off the air because host Kate McCann fainted and collapsed, BBC reported Tuesday.

A live debate between the two candidates vying to succeed Boris Johnson as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom was cut short on Tuesday due to an incident in the studio, initial reports said.

The live debate between Truss and Sunak, hosted by Talk TV and the Sun newspaper, went off air after a loud bang, with one candidate, visibly concerned.

Spokesperson for News UK, which owns the Sun, said, “there was a medical issue, hope to be back on air soon.”

UPDATE: Talk TV tweeted, “Kate McCann fainted on air tonight and although she is fine, the medical advice was that we shouldn’t continue with the debate. We apologise to our viewers and listeners.”
