Latest reports show that some users on the New X Android are reporting a blank notifications bug. It seems the issue also affects the X Lite beta app users, as some are complaining of getting blank notifications. As the name suggests, the notifications are empty, while some only display the user’s username without any other information.
Users Complain of an Annoying Blank Notifications Bug
As tested by PiunikaWeb, the annoying blank notifications bug currently affects “New X” app users. The bug mostly comes as a blank notification that doesn’t even display anything (not even a username). As such, it’s hard to say if the notification is a DM, a new post, a repost, or a reply. This issue started recently, as the notification status worked perfectly some weeks ago.
One of the affected X users asked Grok to explain what the empty notification type is and who was messaging him. The AI bot responded, saying: It’s most likely an X glitch.
A User Reported a Broken Notifications Bug
It seems it’s not only the New X Android and Lite beta app users who are experiencing the notification-related bugs. Recent reports also reveal that some standard Android app users are experiencing a bug on X. The only difference is that these users are seeing broken notifications, not blank notifications.
Some users are also complaining that the notification takes them to their previous activities. For instance, @unX said: “Often I’ll click on a notification, and it will open the app to where I left off last, not the post in the notification.”
Is There A Fix For This Bug?
A recent post by Nikita Bier says the platform is currently free of bugs. With this claim, one can quickly assume that X has no bugs if they haven’t experienced the blank notifications bug.
Apart from the notification-related bugs, users are also experiencing an access-related issue via the phone gallery. This particular X bug restricts users from adding multiple images to a reply if it’s not expanded. Let’s hope Nikita Bier and the X team notice these issues quickly and resolve them.
