Following the release of the Apple Watch, the company is now reportedly considering incorporating health-focused tools into its future ‘AirPods 4’ for improved hearing, reading body temperature, and monitoring posture, according to media reports on Wednesday.

AirPods 4 may include health features like tracking body temperature

The plans, according to a report in WSJ, “further demonstrate Apple’s ambition to add health and wellness features to devices beyond the Apple Watch”.

According to the report, these functions “aren’t expected by next year and might never be rolled out to consumers or the timing could change.”

Apple is also developing technology that will allow iPhones to be used to diagnose depression and cognitive decline.

Apple Watch health sensors

According to reports last month, Apple was looking into ways to add various sensors to the Watch, such as monitoring blood pressure, temperature, sleep quality, blood oxygen, and blood sugar.

The Apple Watch Series 7 includes a new Mindfulness app, sleep respiratory rate tracking, and Tai Chi and Pilates workout options to help improve overall wellness.

It continues to provide health and wellness tools, such as an electrical heart sensor and ECG app, as well as a blood oxygen sensor app.

According to the company, the Apple Watch Series 7 is the first Apple Watch to have an IP6X certification for dust resistance and a WR50 water resistance rating.
