CS:GO New Update Causing Game To Lag And Crash

CS:GO Update Lag Crash Freeze

Counter-Strike Global Offensive (CS:GO), released in 2012, is one of the most popular multiplayer first-person shooter video games of all time. Recently, Valve released an update for the game, which included a new communication setting, called Text Filtering. If you are a lover of CS:GO, you might have witnessed several players use offensive words within the gaming chats. Well, the new text filtering feature enables users to clean up the offensive UGC in the game chat. So far, this newly added communication setting has been great for many users. However, a number of CS:GO players are already reporting that the update causes their game to lag, crash, and freeze.

CS:GO Update Lag, Crash Reports

Shortly after updating their CS:GO with the latest update, a number of players have taken to Reddit to express their concerns. According to them, they are experiencing a constant freeze, crash, and lag, while playing CS:GO, and it started after the update. Let’s have a quick look at some of the users’ complaints so far below:

According to Jesslynnlove, he complained about experiencing a constant lag and crash of CS:GO game, since receiving the update.

Here’s what the user posted:

“Hey, this is -actually- game-breaking. In a single comp game, my client is freezing and I have to end process and relaunch at minimum 3 times. Even if I play a non mm game mode like casual, it will happen before I can even get a few rounds in. Is this known and is there any fix? The patch has been out for a couple of days now and it happens constantly.”

Another user, EntropyKC also complained about experiencing similar issues. Here’s what the Reddit user posted about it below:

“High contrast player models have caused huge issues for me, losing 150 FPS whenever I look at a player. Could it be the same cause but a different symptom? Try turning it off in the settings and see if that fixes it.”

According to another user deathx0r, he’s also experiencing a constant freeze, lag, and crash of CS:GO after receiving the latest update.

In addition, the user mentioned that he has experienced two different variations of the issue so far. There’s one that occurs frequently, but it’s easy to fix by reconnecting. The other one comes up less frequently, but it won’t go away by reconnecting.

Any Fix Yet?

So far, CS:GO developers are yet to say anything about the lag and crash issue, which started after the latest update rolled out. However, since a lot of users are already affected by the issue, I’m sure Valve will roll out a fix sooner than later to address it.

Surely, we’ll keep an eye on all the development for you. As soon as we see anything worth sharing, you’ll be the first to hear about it.
