Many users have shared that their Facebook app is switching from dark mode to light mode. Twitter was filled with reports of multiple users experiencing the issue on Thursday.

People frustrated with Facebook dark mode switching to light mode issue

Frequent users of the Facebook app are frustrated with the issue. People prefer the dark mode for most platforms as it is easier on the eyes. It also saves battery on OLED displays.

It could be quite annoying when a person uses their app in dark mode and suddenly shifts back to the standard light mode.

“Why is my Facebook not in dark mode? Stop that,” tweeted one user. Many people replied to the tweet and expressed their annoyance. “Same. I’m now blind,” wrote one person.

The issue has persisted for months, and some people are even considering uninstalling their app.

“Facebook keeps turning off dark mode and it’s probably sad commentary, but that might be the final straw for me to ditch it,” a frustrated user tweeted on Thursday.

Some disappointed users even gave negative reviews for Facebook on the Google Play Store. They posted about the removal of the dark mode from the Facebook app and gave a low rating to the app.

The disappearance of the dark mode

Many people thought Facebook has removed the dark mode feature entirely last week. “Dark mode has disappeared from my @Facebook app again,” a tweet read.

A recent app update or a server-side bug could have caused the disappearance of the dark mode option. However, the exact update cannot be tracked.

“Why will Dark Mode not stay set? Since the last update, it changes itself to Off constantly.” Someone posted on the micro-blogging platform and tagged Facebook.

However, Facebook has not acknowledged or responded to any complaints.

Android and iOS users are both affected by the issue. “Anyone else who uses the @facebook app on their iPhone finds that it now refuses to stay in dark mode?” an iPhone user tweeted.

Earlier, some people suggested installing the Lite version of the app. Others recommended clearing their app data and cache. However, the issue keeps appearing for users.
