Multiple users have reported that Hogwarts Legacy is not starting or loading on PS5 consoles.

It is an action role-playing video game set in the wizarding world of the Harry Potter franchise and promises to offer an immersive open-world experience, allowing players to explore and interact with the magical world of Hogwarts and its surroundings.

The game was developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

Reports of Hogwarts Legacy not starting or loading on PS5

Only Deluxe Edition purchasers can download the game at this time. The early access period is 72 hours, so the rest of the players can download it on February 10.

However, according to reports, many Hogwarts Legacy players on PS5 consoles are unable to launch or start the game.

When they attempt to access it, they are redirected to the ‘Standard’ Edition home page, but they are unable to launch that version because the console recognises that they are running the ‘Deluxe’ Edition.

A user replied to the tweet: “I had the same though.. and It is the beta… I just uninstalled it and the game has loaded up straight away.”

Another user posted on Reddit about their concern.

“Pre-ordered the deluxe edition. Game preloaded on the 5th and now it’s the 7th here in the UK. I’ve tried to start the game, but it keeps taking me back to the standard edition home page and nothing happens. You can’t play the standard edition version because it recognises you’ve purchased the deluxe,” they wrote.

Luckily, it took no time for gamers to figure out what was wrong. All of this appears to be the result of a conflict between Hogwarts Legacy and the most recent PS5 beta firmware.

As a result, it appears that those using the PS5 beta firmware may experience similar problems with the game.

Possible workarounds

Fortunately, here are some workarounds to help you resolve the issue on your end.

Firstly, you can try to restore licenses through the PS5 settings: settings>account>other.

Additionally, you can also get protected of the PS5 beta firmware and transfer to the stable channel by uninstalling the beta version.

There is no official acknowledgement from the game developers or PlayStation support team.
