Today, Instagram Comments don’t just strengthen community connections. They also allow creators to receive valuable feedback on their content. However, new reports show that IG comments have broken for some users. The affected people said Instagram comments are not showing up for them. This is just one of the issues affecting many users. In other reports, users said a new glitch is restricting the app from sending out new follower alerts.
Understanding why Instagram comments disappeared
Most reports indicate that this issue mostly affects Android users. We’re saying this because mostly Samsung phone owners have reported the issue so far. What’s even more interesting is that the reports are mostly coming from Samsung phones that support QHD+ display resolutions, as spotted by PiunikaWeb. These devices include:
- Samsung Galaxy S24
- Galaxy S25 Ultra
- Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra
The users try opening Instagram comments only to find out they’re not showing up. Instead, what they see under the posts are empty boxes. But when they try loading the comments on other devices, such as a tablet, they open easily.
A Reddit user commenting on the main post regarding this issue said: “Same for me on my business and personal account. I can see them on my tablet, so it’s just an issue with my S26 ultra.” The user basically acknowledged that they are also experiencing the issue, in which the Instagram comments are not showing up on Samsung devices.
Furthermore, some affected users mentioned that the issue is more of a display resolution bug that affects only QHD+ screens. As such, switching your resolution from QHD to FHD is an effective fix for this issue. Users who tested this workaround said trying it certainly helps to restore the Instagram comments that weren’t showing up.

In other reports, creators are getting more followers but not getting alerts. The affected users said the app stopped sending them follower alerts. But it seems this glitch doesn’t affect the entire app, as users still get alerted when followed through their profiles. The issue mostly happens if a Reel goes viral and brings new followers.
No acknowledgement yet
For now, Meta hasn’t yet acknowledged either of the two issues raised. If Instagram comments are currently not showing up on your device, we recommend downgrading your screen resolution for now.
We’ll continue to keep an eye out for updates from Meta. As soon as anything drops, we’ll keep you posted.
