On October 14, 2026, a routine afternoon of harvesting corn took an unexpected turn for a farmer in Scott Township, located in west-central Stevens County, Minnesota. Around 3:30 pm, the farmer found a massive, scorched metallic object amidst the stalks. Following the discovery, local authorities, led by the Stevens County Sheriff’s Office, immediately arrived on the scene to investigate the mysterious object.

What Is the Mysterious Object?

The object is a bowl-shaped hunk of metal, approximately 11 feet in diameter. Authorities note that the scorch marks on the metallic structure suggest exposure to intense heat during possible atmospheric re-entry. The object is also stamped with visible serial numbers, providing investigators with clues to trace its origin.

The farmer examined the height and growth patterns of the corn trapped directly beneath the object. Based on these observations, he estimated that it had been sitting in the field for at least six weeks before harvest began.

The Sheriff’s Office is currently coordinating with several state and federal agencies to to trace the serial numbers. They aim to pinpoint the rightful owner and map out a logistical plan to move the object out of the cornfield. However, officials have confirmed that the object poses no danger to the public and that no injuries or property damage have been reported.
