Instagram users are troubled by the ‘Ingress timeout, stream ID’ error that prevents them from logging in to their accounts.

There have been multiple Instagram login-related issues recently. Previously, users were unable to log in after a server outage. Instagram users also got logged out when searching for ‘#Embeded’ or ‘Embedded’.

Reports of Instagram ‘Ingress timeout, stream ID’ login error

Multiple Instagram users are experiencing a login error that has caused inconvenience for many people, especially those with business accounts.

“@instagram @InstagramComms why does my Instagram say “ingress timeout, stream ID”? I have been locked out for 3-5 days. That’s bad for my brand,” a user posted.

It looks like the bug is restricting users from accessing their accounts, while their profiles are visible to everyone else on the platform.

“My account has been showing that ingress timeout streamid error for 5 days now. Instagram is my main form of communication with many and this has literally halted plans and my life. Can you fix it before I decide to leave the app for good?? Thanks,”  a frustrated user posted.

“I have no emails saying the account was banned etc and no account status but I’m having the same issue. My other accounts work. Instagram might have removed the Account Status option because this bug is causing a huge inflow of support tickets. The good thing is that it’s an account issue on Instagram’s end, not our end I hope,” a user posted on Reddit.

Surprisingly, even though users’ accounts are not loading or working, they are still getting notifications for DMs. Users tried to log in through other devices or through web browsers but it didn’t work. Changing the password for the account didn’t resolve the issue either.

Potential workaround

Affected users can try some basic troubleshooting tips such as updating or reinstalling the Instagram app, and clearing the cache.

Additionally, a user recommended the following workaround for a potential fix.

Instagram developers have not acknowledged the log in issue or provided an official solution to the problem. Affected users will have to wait for a fix to be able to access their account properly.
