A recent study reveals that more than 53% of the population in Damascus is poor. The same study added that 42% of poor people in the city rely on aid to survive. These are some of the factors that contribute to why this Arab city has always ranked as the least liveable place in the world.

2. Lagos, Nigeria

Sitting in the second position on the list of the top 10 worst cities in 2022 to live in is ‘Lagos.’ In case you don’t know, Lagos is a major African financial center and the former capital of Nigeria.

According to the EIU ranking, Lagos currently occupies the 171st position on the Global Liveability Index 2022, which only includes 172 different countries. Lagos scored 32.2 on the index. Lagos scored 20.0 for stability, 20.8 for health care, 44.9 for culture & environment, 25.0 for education, and 46.4 for infrastructure.
