The OnePlus 12 just hit the market not long ago, but guess what? The buzz is already building for the next big thing: the OnePlus 13. If the usual routine sticks, we might see it hit shelves by the end of this year, first in China and then elsewhere early next year. Yup, they’re already cooking up the follow-up to one of the top Android phones around.

We have gathered all the latest scoop, including the expected release date and price, as well as rumored features of the upcoming phone.

OnePlus 13 release date

OnePlus has been dropping its new flagship phones around December lately, premiering in China just before the new year kicks in. Take the OnePlus 12, for instance—it hit China on December 6, 2023, and then went global a month later. In the U.S., it hit shelves on February 6.

Possible global rollout in early 2025

As for the OnePlus 13 release plans, the rumor mill hasn’t spilled any beans yet—those whispers usually come later in the year. But it’s a safe bet that OnePlus will stick to its routine, aiming for a December 2024 launch in China, followed by a global rollout in the first three months of 2025. And hey, this time around, they might be flexing Qualcomm’s latest processors, giving them an edge over Samsung and Xiaomi.

OnePlus 13 price

When it comes to pricing, the OnePlus 12 kicked off at $799, but with a trade-in deal, you could snag it for $699, the same as the OnePlus 11. Now, whether OnePlus can stick to that ballpark for the OnePlus 13 is up in the air. All this given the rise in component costs that some phone makers are grappling with. So, for now, we’re looking at something in the range of $699 to $799, unless new rumors tell us otherwise.

OnePlus 13 specs and features

Rumors about the OnePlus 13 suggest it’s shaking things up with a fresh camera island design, departing from its predecessor’s look. Let’s check out some of the other specs and features of the 2025 phone.

Brar predicts that the OnePlus 13 will sport a micro-quad curved display, meaning the top and bottom edges will curve just like the sides. This design, seen in models like the Honor Magic6 Pro, isn’t typical, making the OnePlus 13 stand out if it comes to fruition.

Some sources talk about a curved screen

Recently, Android Authority noticed a post on Weibo suggesting that the OnePlus 13 will feature a unique design with a display covered by curved glass on all four sides, creating a bezel-free appearance. The same leaker also claims that OnePlus will use a 2K OLED panel for its next flagship model.

Other suggests a straight screen

According to another leaker Digital Chat Station, the OnePlus 13 will come with two significant upgrades compared to the OnePlus 12. Firstly, it’s the screen. While the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R both boast curved displays, reports suggest that the OnePlus 13 will feature a “straight screen.” Although the translation from the Chinese post on Weibo to English may not be perfect, it strongly indicates that the OnePlus 13 is moving away from the curved screen of its predecessor in favor of a flat one.

Similar screen size to OnePlus 12

The phone’s 6.8-inch screen would be similar in size to the OnePlus 12, which has a 6.82-inch display. This means those wishing for a smaller screen and phone size might not get what they hoped for. The use of LTPO technology for a variable refresh rate isn’t unexpected, but it’s still good news to see it included.

Advanced camera sensors

So, the periscope telephoto lens is also expected to rock a 50 MP resolution, offering the same 3x optical zoom as before. Plus, this tele camera is set to receive some Hasselblad magic, ensuring that the OnePlus and camera maker partnership remains strong.

While the OnePlus 12 boasted a 50 MP main camera, its telephoto lens sported a 64 MP sensor, and the ultrawide packed a 48 MP punch. With these new sensors, the OnePlus 13 might outshine its predecessor in the camera department, but only time will tell.

According to Android Authority, a Weibo user named Digital Chat Station says that OnePlus will make some small improvements to its periscope-style telephoto lens.

Better low-light photos

Keep an eye out for any news about changes to the camera’s abilities. Hasselblad has been helping to make colors and low-light photos better in recent OnePlus phones, and the OnePlus 12 focused on making portrait mode better. We’ll have to wait and see what Hasselblad and OnePlus have planned for the image processing features in the OnePlus 13.

Powerful battery

Word on the street also hints at a 6,000 mAh battery. The OnePlus 13 will run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC, set for release in October. This suggests we might see the OnePlus 13 announcement in November, a smidge earlier than its predecessor’s debut.

What to expect from the OnePlus 13 Flagship

The OnePlus 13 is still in its early stages, so we can anticipate numerous more rumors surfacing between now and the end of the year. However, with talk of a new camera setup, a large battery, and the power of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, there’s already a lot to look forward to with the upcoming OnePlus flagship.
