Tesla’s Cybercab is adding another entertainment option for riders. Elon Musk has confirmed that passengers will be able to connect a PlayStation or Xbox to Tesla’s newly launched robotaxi.
Musk made the comment on September 5 while responding to a Tesla’s post about the Cybercab’s entertainment-focused cabin.
Tesla says Cybercab features theater, music and gaming apps on a large 22-inch touchscreen. The company is positioning the autonomous vehicle as a space where passengers can use their travel time for entertainment, work or relaxation.
Cybercab launched on September 3, with public rides subsequently opening in Austin.

Cybercab gaming could go beyond built-in apps
Cybercab already puts a major focus on its central touchscreen and in-car entertainment. Musk’s latest statement suggests riders will eventually have another option: connecting their own PlayStation or Xbox console.
That could expand Cybercab gaming beyond Tesla’s built-in apps and give passengers access to games available on Sony and Microsoft consoles.
However, Musk did not explain exactly how the connection will work. He also did not provide details about supported ports, adapters or other hardware requirements.
It remains unclear when PlayStation and Xbox connectivity will become available. Tesla could enable the feature through additional hardware, software support or another solution.

Starlink V5 coming to Cybercab
Tesla is also preparing another connectivity upgrade for Cybercab. The company said the robotaxi will soon feature Starlink V5 hardware for connectivity while it drives itself.
Combined with Cybercab’s 22-inch touchscreen, Starlink connectivity and external console support could further expand entertainment options inside the vehicle.
Cybercab is designed without a steering wheel or pedals. As a result, Tesla has placed greater emphasis on the passenger experience and what riders can do while the vehicle handles the journey.
Public Cybercab rides are already underway in Austin following the September 3 launch, giving passengers the chance to experience Tesla’s purpose-built autonomous vehicle.
The latest gaming announcement adds to Tesla’s broader vision for the Cybercab. Instead of simply transporting passengers between destinations, the company wants riders to use their travel time for entertainment, productivity or relaxation.
For now, Cybercab is already on the road, while PlayStation and Xbox connectivity remains an upcoming capability. Musk has confirmed that console connections are planned, but Tesla has yet to reveal when the feature will arrive or exactly how it will work.
