Russia’s army said Friday it had launched a “massive” missile and drone strike at Ukraine in “response” to recent attacks by Kyiv on its territory.

“In response to terrorist acts by the Kyiv regime, the Russian armed forces overnight launched a massive strike with high-precision long-range air-, sea- and ground-based weapons, as well as attack drones,” Moscow’s defence ministry said, adding it had targeted “military” sites after Ukraine said at least three people were killed and AFP reporters in Kyiv saw a residential building had been hit.
