Egyptian Man’s Quick Response Saves Child

The child slipped over the edge of the balcony. While standing outside his father’s shop, Ragab heard shouting and quickly spotted the falling child. The child briefly hit the washing line before falling, giving Ragab a few extra seconds. Becoming entangled in the washing line slowed the child’s descent.

Because Ragab caught the child safely, the boy survived without serious injuries. Ragab later said, “Everything happened so quickly that I had no time to consider whether I would be able to reach the child.” His presence of mind is being praised by people across the globe.

The video serves as an important lesson to parents regarding child safety. Parents should refrain from leaving their children unattended on balconies. Speaking to the press, Ragab said, “Keep a close watch on young children and avoid leaving chairs or other objects near balconies and windows that children could climb onto.”
