YouTube says UK social media ban could push children to ‘less safe services’

A forthcoming British ban on social media for all children under the age of 16 risks pushing them to less moderated sites, YouTube said Monday.

“Blanket bans push kids out of such curated, supervised, beneficial experiences and towards anonymous, less safe services,” a YouTube spokesperson said in a statement.
