The U.S. government released a batch of previously classified Pentagon UFO files on October 23, 2026. The files include a 60-page report titled Utah Ranch Investigation, which details chilling accounts of alleged skinwalkers. The investigation was prompted by reports of frequent sightings of mysterious lights and unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) in the region.

The investigation was conducted in March and April 2010 by Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies (BAASS). BAASS was a private contractor hired for government-funded research into unidentified phenomena. The research took place near Fort Duchesne in Utah’s Uintah Basin, close to the famous Skinwalker Ranch.

The ‘Skinwalker’ Accounts

A local Utah Task Force was formed to investigate residents’ reports of unusual creatures around the property near Fort Duchesne. Since the region was already known for alleged paranormal anomalies, the Pentagon’s Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program (AAWSAP) operating through the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) contracted BAASS to step in.

BAASS interviewed more than twenty-five eyewitnesses. Those interviewed included multiple local police officers, the director of the local Fish and Wildlife Office, 11 Native Americans, and 15 members of the Mormon Church. These witnesses described the unusual creatures as standing upright, with black-and-grey fur. One reported entity was estimated to be roughly 1.80 meters tall and to weigh approximately 113 kilograms. It also featured a head resembling that of a German shepherd but with a more human-like nose.

The resident who reported seeing this creature being chased by dogs said that it moved at the speed of a shooting star. According to one account, the creature repeatedly collided with a barbed-wire fence and let out an unnatural howl. The witness said that nearby coyotes then began howling in response.

The Verdict

Despite the  paranormal descriptions provided by the local community, analysis of the evidence recovered from the site produced ordinary biological findings. The most concrete piece of physical evidence came from the resident who claimed his dogs had chased the “Skinwalker” through a barbed-wire fence. BAASS personnel recovered hair samples caught on the fence’s barbs. DNA testing confirmed that the hair samples shared a canine DNA sequence that matched a sample from a domestic dog living on the property. Other samples matched raccoon DNA.

The report ultimately provided no confirmation of the existence of skinwalkers.
