Bug: YouTube Shuffle Playlist Not Working / Broken

YouTube Music bug Song is unavailable issue

With more than 2 billion users, YouTube is arguably the most popular video streaming app in the world. The platform is mostly favored by many because it offers a lot of great features – especially those that can help to boost views. Some of them include video or playlist autoplay, online share button, dashboard, channel analytics, etc. Furthermore, there’s always an opportunity for you to create your playlist on the platform. Apart from that, YouTube also has a ‘Shuffle Playlist’ feature, which enables you to take control of your listening experience. According to several reports across social media platforms, many YouTube users are complaining that the ‘Shuffle Playlist’ feature is not working as expected. They are also calling on Google to roll out a fix to address the bug/issue that has been around for a long time.

YouTube Users Are Reporting That The Shuffle Playlist Feature Is Not Working

Many YouTube users have taken to various social media platforms, including Google Support, complaining that the ‘shuffle playlist’ option is not working properly. Looking at the reports so far, we also discovered that the issue has been around for a long time. Let’s have a quick look at some of the complaints below:

According to Sunakta G, who is also complaining that the Shuffle Playlist feature is not working, the YouTube user said:

“I am also having this same issue. I hear a handful of songs on myplaylist over and over instead of getting to shuffle through the whole list. Is there anyone we can contact about this? Not going to keep paying for a feature that doesn’t work.”

You can also check here (1, 2, 3) for more reports regarding the YouTube Shuffle Playlist issue that is not working properly. Furthermore, the first known report on the issue was posted by W Skin, and that happened about 7 months ago. And up till now, Google hasn’t been able to release a fix to address the bug. Also, we noticed that YouTube users are facing two different issues with the shuffle playlist feature. First, even though you have several songs on your playlist, the YouTube Shuffle Playlist only works for the first 20 to 30 songs. Apart from that, another issue with the feature is that it plays a particular song, over and over again.

No Official Fix Yet

For now, it’s still unclear why Google hasn’t yet fixed the bug affecting the shuffle playlist feature. In case you’re also experiencing this issue, we can only advise you to either try out a workaround or wait until the company addresses it. As for the workaround, you can check here for the necessary information about it. That said, we’ll keep our eye on Google regarding any fix for the bug. And as soon as we find anything worth sharing, you’ll be the first to know about it here.
