OnePlus Nord, released in July, is the latest smartphone from OnePlus. Apart from that, it’s also the first mid-range smartphone from the company, since 2015. The device comes with a lot of great features when you compare it with other devices in its price segment. However, it’s only been nine days since the device was released and people are already complaining about some issues on it. According to complaints by some early OnePlus Nord users, they are experiencing tint issues on the device. Furthermore, the users reported that the screen tint comes in different colors, including green, purple, and yellow.

Early OnePlus Nord users have taken to various social media platforms, including Reddit and the company’s forum, complaining about experiencing tint issues. Let’s have a quick look at some of the reports below:
According to Mat_Thieu, he said: “OnePlus Nord is a great device but there is a major green tint issue at low brightness…”
According to @Zoqio on Reddit, the user replied a user that:
“Mine doesn’t seem to be as bad as yours but I did get the purple tint myself. Slight purple tint on the left-hand side of the screen.”

Looking at the reports so far, it looks like the OnePlus Nord tint issues come in different colors. In some cases, the screen tint comes in purple color, and in other cases, it appears as green and yellow colors. Furthermore, the OnePlus Nord tint issues start appearing when the brightness of the device is below 20% or 25%.
According to 9to5, sometimes ago, OnePlus explained that screen tinting at low brightness is common to all OLED displays. Also, the company also explained that the amount can vary from screen to screen, and it’s not as a result of low quality.
Any fix for OnePlus Nord tinting issues?
Unfortunately, OnePlus is yet to issue any statement regarding the green, yellow, and purple screen tint issues.
In case you don’t remember, we reported the same issue for OnePlus 8 devices a few months ago. As such, it’s still clear that the issue is not hardware-related. Looking at previous cases, OnePlus has been able to release an update to optimize and fix the tint issue on OnePlus 8 Pro. So, it’s also possible that the company will follow the same step, to address the tint issues being faced by OnePlus Nord users.
