If the present listings by a user on Amazon are any indication, then we’ll be having three different models, including a 500 GB, 1 TB SSD, and a 2 TB Drive, with heavy price tags, when PlayStation 5 launches later this year. However, that depends on whether or not Amazon’s practice of utilizing placeholder prices for popular upcoming products is valid.
PlayStation 5 Price Listed On Amazon
According to a report, the yet to be unveiled Sony’s PlayStation 5 price tags have been spotted on Amazon UK. However, it’s unclear whether it’s just a placeholder from online retailers or a leak.
The report, which came from one of Twitter leakers @Wario64, showed the screenshot of PlayStation 5 on Amazon, with heavy price tags.
As seen in the screenshot below, the price of PlayStation 5 with 2 TB storage capacity goes for £599/$760
Here’s a brief of what the Twitter user posted:
“PlayStation 5 2TB placeholder listing on Amazon UK says it’s £599.99. No link posted to Amazon but someone was able to order it apparently https://hotukdeals.com/discussions/ps..”
The user also mentioned that the PlayStation 5 with 1 TB storage capacity sells at the same price as that of the first one.
“PS5 1TB was also listed at £599.99 too, apparently”
So far, we don’t know whether this is a leak or a placeholder price. However, we won’t have to wait longer as the company has plans to reveal the upcoming gaming console pretty soon. Until then, I’ll advise we take this report with a pinch of salt until Sony comes up with an official release.
Apart from Sony’s PlayStation 5, some other leaks spotted by @Wario64 on Amazon UK include some dummy names for unannounced games, like Bethesda Game 6.

Looking at the PlayStation 5 price tags on Amazon UK and linking to what Jim Ryan, the CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment said in a recent interview, we might want to expect a high price for the upcoming gaming console.
Here’s what Ryan said while talking about the conditions of the console’s production.
“I think the best way we can address it is by providing the best possible value proposition that we can.”
Adding to that, Ryan said, he doesn’t necessarily mean the lowest price.
“Value is a combination of many things. In our area it means games, it means the number of games, depth of games, breadth of games, quality of games, price of games… All of these things and how they avail themselves of the feature set of the platform.”
