Recently, some people with iPhones have been facing an issue where the new reviews are not showing up in the App Store. Those affected can only check out reviews posted before January 16 this year.

It’s a bit unclear how common this problem is, but it seems quite random. Some users can see the latest reviews for certain apps, while others can’t, and it also varies depending on the app. We tried replicating the issue on iPhones in the U.S. and Canada, and it happened, but not on an iPhone in the U.K. Interestingly, the Mac App Store doesn’t seem to be affected at all.
Last week, a Reddit post caught the attention of Jeff Johnson, the developer behind the widely-used web browser extension StopTheMadness for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Johnson pointed out that he could view a review for his app, submitted on January 20, through the App Store Connect developer tool. However, the same review was mysteriously absent when he tried to check it on the actual App Store.
Here’s what Reddit users and others on the Apple Community Forum are complaining about
“You might be right! I’m an App Store developer, and I actually see a US review from January 20 in App Store Connect, but I don’t see that review in the US App Store,” one person posted.
“All my reviews got deleted too since Dec 2023. I tried reviewing yesterday and today it disappeared too,” another user shared.
The Apple Community Forum is filled with similar questions from puzzled users, with some reports dating back a year to when this same problem occurred.
One person asked: “Recently installed several apps on my iPhone 13 Pro (iOS 16.3) and submitted reviews for a couple of them. Even after a day or two, those reviews have not appeared under those apps’ Ratings and Reviews section. Am I doing something wrong, or does it take a long time for new reviews/ratings to show up?”
There were no responses to their complaint.
According to Quora users, there might be a reason behind this. It seems Apple takes approximately 24 hours to approve reviews, which will only appear in the App Store of the country linked to your Apple account. If you revisit the review section, you should be able to see the text you’ve typed. If it’s not there, it could mean the review hasn’t been approved or Apple has removed it.
