A viral video making rounds of social media shows a parrot singing Beyonce’s hit song, “If I were a boy” to an awe struck audience. The rendition of Beyonce’s song by a 9 year old parrot captivated the audience as they watched in amusement. The parrot lives in the Lincolnshire Wildlife Park in the UK. The 9 year old parrot is known as Chico, he is very popular in the park for his ability to sing hit songs of the decade.
Parrot sings a Beyonce song
The staff at Lincolnshire Wildlife Park report that Chico arrived in the park about 18 months ago. Since his arrival, Chico has been chanting renditions of popular hit songs. Chico finds it a pleasure to entertain carers and visitors by breaking into tunes. Visitors often find him delightful, the viral video shows the audience in a trance as they witness Chico sing Beyonce’s hit song. Chico’s latest performance has gone viral on social media. The video was shared, like and retweeted on the massive scale, Chico’s performance spread like wildfire. After all, one does not come across a parrot singing a Beyonce song every day.
Apart from singing Beyonce’s hit song, Chico also performs tracks such as “Poker Face, Firework and Crazy”. We do not know where Chico gets his music taste from, but it is evident that Chico has spent a considerable amount of time in someone’s company who enjoyed blasting pop music on speakers. Some social media users have commented that Chico sings even better than Beyonce. For all we know, Chico could give Beyonce a run for her money.
Steve Nichols, the CEO of Lincolnshire Wildlife Park says the visitors are in awe of Chico’s singing talent. He told the press, “After more than 25 years working with these amazing birds, they still never cease to amaze me. Who’d have ever thought that a parrot would cause social distancing problems due to being so popular?”
Chico goes viral on social media
About three different videos have now been posted on an Instagram account dedicated to Chico and his talent. This fan account was created after Chico’s rendition of Beyonce’s song went viral. Thousands of people have subscribed to the account, the number of views on the video keep multiplying by each second. The video shows Chico singing Beyonce’s classic “If I were a boy” in a deep voice, he is imitating the exact same style adopted by Beyonce.
What makes this rendition even more impressive is the fact that Chico emphasizes on the same notes and chords as Beyonce does. However, a sad aspect of the viral video is seeing Chico trapped in a cage with metal bars. Despite being such intelligent creatures and having wings that are made to explore the skies, Chico is confined to a metal cage. The world wide movement for abolishing zoo‘s and wildlife parks has gained considerable momentum. Parrots like Chico would be much happier if they were allowed to roam around freely as the nature had intended.
