According to multiple reports, users claim that their YouTube videos keep pausing randomly when they are typing a comment.

YouTube is a popular video-sharing platform that has transformed the way we watch videos by providing a variety of content ranging from music videos to cooking tutorials.

The YouTube app is an essential part of our daily routine, enabling us to access a diverse collection of videos from anywhere. However, users have been facing a problem where the video stops playing when they attempt to type in the comment section while the video is still playing.

Reports of YouTube videos pausing when typing a comment

Those who are facing the issue have posted their concerns on social media platforms such as Twitter and Reddit.

“I noticed after the new update that YouTube is pausing videos when typing a comment. Anyone else experience this? I could have sworn it wasn’t always like this,” said one person.

“I’ve never noticed this until today, but when I went to comment under a video on the iOS app, the video paused as well. It was a music video so it was quite annoying. Is this new? And is there any way to turn it off?,” another user said.

This is an unusual issue because the app normally allows users to comment while the video plays in the background. The issue seems to affect various platforms, including TV and smartphones running on iOS and Android.

Some users have reported that this issue started after the latest app update and older versions of the app seem to function correctly.

Issue not acknowledged officially + potential workaround

While YouTube developers are unaware of this issue, the YouTube support team has suggested some potential solutions.

They recommend that users try to sign out and back in or update the app or device OS. For web users, they suggest clearing the cache and cookies. However, these workarounds do not seem to fix the problem.

Those affected by this issue will have to wait for YouTube to release a solution to the problem.
